A Journey to Zero

Must agree with the chaps over at No Legacy in that A Journey to Zero, with Richard Saul Wurman of TED, is indeed a good idea that is not only very well crafted but of noble effort too. Investigate here.

Art Deco Icons

Recently I have been working on a project which takes some inspiration from art deco, and so watching this BBC4 series, called Art Deco Icons, has made for some good viewing.
Architectural historian, David Heathcote, follows the Art Deco movement in Britain during the 1930's. So far, an in depth look around Claridges Hotel (we must do tea!), and a poke around London Transport HQ in St James' (tickets please!). Interesting stuff.

Available to watch on the BBC iPlayer, if you are in the UK.

Synesthesia

Quite like this fairly surreal short film by Directing-duo, Terri Timely (Ian Kibbey and Corey Creasey), which portrays two brother’s and their surreal experiences as they explore their Synesthesia.

From the very first conceptual step to the finished result of a five minutes long presentational movie, this visual tale was designed, realised, directed and produced by David solely

Visual Acoustics: Julius Shulman

Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, Visual Acoustics explores the monumental career of 98-year-old architectural photographer, Julius Shulman. Populating his photos with human models and striking landscapes, Shulman combined the organic with the synthetic, melding nature with revolutionary urban design. The resulting images helped to shape the careers of some of the greatest architects of the 20th Century.
